Following the release of "Daddy's Gone/Flowers & Football Tops" on 5 November 2007, record company interest in Glasvegas reached fever pitch and during December 2007 and January 2008, the band were actively courted by all the major record labels plus several indie labels. "Daddy's Gone" sold out and was voted the number two single of the year by NME magazine which was all the more incredible when only 1000 copies were.
